Texas Regulators Defy Lawmakers On Instant Racing

Refusing to back down even at the risk of shuttering the state’s $325m pari-mutuel industry, the Texas Racing Commission cast a surprising 4-3 vote to maintain regulations for instant racing machines.

According to Porzio Governmental Affairs gaming lobbyist Barbara DeMarco: "The actions of certain members of the Texas legislature are short-sighted and based on ideology, not reality."
