Dennis F. Marco

Senior Director

Dennis Marco, a Senior Director for Porzio Governmental Affairs, boasts more than 30 years of government relations experience in healthcare, economic development, nonprofits, and associations. His impactful advocacy has played a crucial role in championing the interests of some of New Jersey's leading businesses.

A Paterson, New Jersey native and William Paterson College graduate, he began his career as a special assistant to U.S. Senator Bill Bradley. Over the years, Mr. Marco has excelled in diverse public affairs roles, including Director of Marketing at the Teleport (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey), Director of Public Affairs at Hartz Mountain Industries, Deputy Commissioner of the N.J. Department of Commerce and Economic Development, and Vice President of External Affairs and Corporate Communications at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

During his tenure at Horizon from 1991 to 2002, Mr. Marco spearheaded federal and state legislative activities, public relations, and brand identity, and provided strategic support for various product marketing divisions. He represented Horizon in national associations such as the Health Insurance Association of America, the American Association of Health Plans, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

As Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Commerce and Economic Development, Mr. Marco managed a $12 million budget, directed administrative staff, and orchestrated the consolidation and reorganization of three departments: Commerce, Banking, and Insurance. Additionally, he chaired the governor’s Task Force on Government Regulation and co-chaired the Advertising Selection Committee for the Division of Travel and Tourism.

Mr. Marco has actively contributed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the American Diabetes Association at both local and national levels. He holds a master’s degree in urban affairs and policy analysis from the New School for Social Research and a bachelor’s degree in political science from William Paterson University.
