Thomas Bushnauskas brings a wealth of experience in government affairs, public service, and political strategy. With a diverse background in legislative work, communications, and outreach, Thomas has played a pivotal role in shaping public policy and fostering strong community relationships.
Most recently, Thomas was the Executive Director of the Police Athletic League of Parsippany, where he worked to support youth development and build stronger community relationships. Prior to that, he served as a Legislative Staffer to Former Assemblyman John F. McKeon, managing constituent relations across the district and providing critical support in legislative matters, including the development and passage of key bills.
Thomas also has significant experience in outreach and communications. As the Director of Outreach & Return on Investment for U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer, he led communications strategies and cultivated relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. He further developed his expertise as a Communication Outreach Specialist for Passaic County, focusing on public engagement initiatives that benefited county residents.
In addition, Thomas served as Chief of Staff to County Freeholder Sandi Lazzara. In this capacity, he successfully guided the candidate through a re-election campaign and helped design legislation aimed at improving the lives of Passaic County residents.
Outside of his professional work, Thomas is actively involved in his community. He serves as the Treasurer for the Passaic County Young Democrats and is a Trustee for both the Hawthorne Education Foundation and the Alliance Trustee for the Municipality of Hawthorne. His volunteer work reflects his ongoing commitment to civic engagement and improving his local community.
Thomas is a graduate of William Paterson University, where he earned a degree in Political Science with a concentration in law.
