Porzio Governmental Affairs is proud to announce that Vice President Barbara DeMarco will become Chairperson of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors effective June 1, 2025. Barbara’s appointment marks the beginning of a two-year term leading the Chamber’s strategic vision and business advocacy efforts across the region.
This leadership transition comes at a key moment for the Chamber, following the recent resignation of its President. As incoming Chair, Barbara is expected to play a central role in the search process and leadership transition, working closely with the Executive Board to identify and onboard a new President by Fall 2025.
A seasoned public affairs professional, Barbara has been instrumental in reshaping the Chamber’s focus on advocacy and outreach, particularly in the gaming, agriculture, and technology sectors. Since joining the Chamber’s Executive Board in 2022 and serving as Chair-Elect since 2023, she has collaborated with regional business leaders to strengthen the local economy, support member organizations, and guide the Chamber’s long-term strategy.
Barbara has played a central role in shaping New Jersey’s gaming and public policy landscape. She was instrumental in the passage of more than three dozen gaming-related bills and led the effort to establish a world-class data center for online wagering at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Her advocacy extends beyond gaming—a passionate champion for the agricultural community, she speaks to the need to promote both NJ’s farming and fishing industries as well as the ever-growing sector of agritourism.
With a deep-rooted commitment to Atlantic County, Barbara brings a unique blend of local insight and statewide influence. In addition to her Board service, she has maintained longstanding involvement with the Chamber’s Policy and Economic Development Committee, reinforcing her dedication to driving regional progress.
