On April 18th, Continent 8 technologies, a long-time client of Porzio Governmental Affairs, opened its state-of-the-art data center in Atlantic City. Continent 8 offers hosting and data storage services for digital gaming businesses, and this data center is the result of significant investments made by the company in the New Jersey gaming industry. The data center houses 90% of the state’s licensed internet gaming and sports wagering platforms, making it a landmark in the gaming space.
The data center is the first of its kind, compliant and licensed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and the result of a public-private partnership between the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and Continent 8. Barbara DeMarco, a lobbyist and business development consultant from Porzio Governmental Affairs, played a critical role in facilitating the partnership and navigating the legislative and regulatory landscape as well as site selection for the data center. Her expertise allowed Continent 8 to focus on technology and gaming without being weighed down by regulatory concerns. Porzio Bromberg and Newman’s Sal Anderton, Esq. and Jonathan King, Esq. handled the contractual negotiations with Continent 8 Technologies partner, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
Only a few weeks before the opening, Continent 8 was awarded the NJBIZ Leaders in Digital Technology Award, highlighting the company’s success and momentum in the industry. It is clear that Continent 8 is on a roll, driven by its cutting-edge technology and successful partnerships.
