On June 16, 2021, Governor Murphy signed S3434/A5366 into law. The legislation extends school services for one year for disabled students who could not receive vital programs put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic. The extension will apply to students who turn 21 during the 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 school years. These schools teach life skills and provide job training to students with developmental disabilities. Senate President Sweeney and Senator Addiego co-sponsored S3434, and A5366 was co-sponsored by Assemblywomen Lampitt and Huttle and Assemblyman McKeon.
