On the heels of the Thought Leaders’ Summit on Esports event held at Stockton University’s William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy, the law firm of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Porzio Governmental affairs have launched a multi-disciplinary team to support businesses emerging in the Esports industry in New Jersey.
The team will include attorneys, lobbyists, and business and security consultants from the firm and other businesses in the Porzio family of companies.
Porzio Managing Principal, Vito A. Gagliardi, Jr. says that the initiative was inspired by recent events in Atlantic City, when Porzio Governmental Affairs assisted its client, Continent 8 in opening the first world class data center in the US at the Atlantic City Convention Center in the late first quarter of 2019. The data center will connect Atlantic City to 30 other Continent 8 locations around the world. Continent 8 has served the needs of the internet gaming and sports wagering industries for over 20 years. Following the work of Porzio Governmental Affairs, lawyers at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. have handled the legal real estate and lease transactions for Continent 8 related to the data center.
“Entrepreneurs and companies emerging in the Esports industry need business and legal advisors with entrepreneurial mindset. Porzio’s model of driving value through our subsidiary companies provides the perfect opportunity for companies at all stages to have access to high quality legal and business teams under one umbrella. Our model promotes the flexibility and creativity needed to support our clients with their high-growth opportunities,” Gagliardi commented.
Porzio’s Esports Business and Legal team will provide companies in the industry with services that are critical to their growth including, governmental affairs, licensing, intellectual property, employment, contracts, data privacy, cybersecurity, and real estate. Professionals from Porzio Compliance Services, LLC and Porzio Governmental Affairs, LLC will work in connection with the law firm to drive efficiency and value.
Barbara DeMarco, Lobbyist and Vice President of Porzio Governmental Affairs is an Esports advocate, who has been at the forefront since the industry first developed. Ms. DeMarco further adds, “It is clear from last week’s Thought Leader Summit on Esports event at William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University that Esports has strong support in Atlantic City.” Porzio Governmental Affairs co-hosted the summit and attended by representatives from government, businesses, and Esports to explore the industry and its potential for economic development in Atlantic City.
