Continent 8 Technologies Opens State-of-the-Art Data Center in Atlantic City

On April 18th, Continent 8 technologies, a long-time client of Porzio Governmental Affairs, opened its state-of-the-art data center in Atlantic City. Continent 8 offers hosting and data storage services for digital gaming businesses, and this data center is the result of significant investments made by the company in the New Jersey gaming industry. The data center houses 90% of the state’s licensed internet gaming and sports wagering platforms, making it a landmark in the gaming space.

Continent 8 Technologies Awarded the NJBIZ Leaders in Digital Technology Award

On March 30th, long-time Porzio Governmental Affairs client Continent 8 Technologies was awarded the NJBIZ Leaders in Digital Technology award in an online ceremony. Continent 8 is a technology and services firm, offering hosting and data storage services for businesses in the digital gaming space. With the help of Porzio Governmental Affairs’ Barbara DeMarco, this international firm has made large investments in New Jersey, most notably the creation of an Atlantic City data center in 2019. 

Porzio Governmental Affairs Barbara DeMarco Appointed to Board of Directors of Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce has announced that Porzio Governmental Affairs Barbara DeMarco is one of seven new members joining its Board of Directors. DeMarco will serve as an Executive Board Member and Co-Chair of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce Policy and Economic Development Committee where will she focus on opportunities to grow and diversify the economy in Atlantic County and develop public policy that focuses on a “Clean and Safe Atlantic City,” as well as expanding Infrastructure, Job Training/Retraining, as well as funding for both Community Development Corporations and attracting national conventions to the South Shore area of the State.

Porzio Governmental Affairs Coordinates Microstamping Technology Demonstration on Behalf of Client Brady United Against Gun Violence

On June 14th, New Jersey Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin, Senate Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz, and Brady United Against Gun Violence held a live demonstration of microstamping technology, a cutting-edge forensic technology used for tracing bullet casings to the firearm that they were discharged from. Todd Lizotte, one of the co-inventors of microstamping, demonstrated the technology. The New Jersey legislature is currently considering a bill, S1462/A2216, that would implement microstamping technology for newly manufactured semi-automatic pistols sold in the state. Only two states in the country, California and New York, have passed microstamping laws. The demonstration occurred at the Newark Police Department shooting range on Delancey Street in Newark, NJ.
